Accessibility Information and Grievance Procedure

The Montana School for the Deaf and the Blind (MSDB) is committed to providing access to all individuals seeking information on our website, including persons with disabilities.

If, because of a disability, you are experiencing difficulty accessing information on MSDB’s website, please fill out the Website Accessibility Complaint/Grievance Form.

Complaints or grievances about the inaccessibility of website content should be submitted in writing, via email to info@msdb.mt.gov, or by completing the Website Complaint/Grievance Form.

The formal ADA non-compliance complaint should include the following:

  • Name
  • Address and Contact Information
  • Web address or location of the problem page
  • Description of the problem encountered
  • Anything else you would like us to know

We will contact you to attempt to provide the information you are seeking and will seek to resolve any issues regarding inaccessibility of the information on the MSDB website.

The complaint or grievance will be investigated by the Network Manager/Web Accessibility Coordinator, the Superintendent, or another person designated by the Superintendent. The student, family member, or community member shall be contacted no later than five (5) working days following the date MSDB receives the information. The procedures to be followed are:

  • An investigation of the complaint shall be completed within fifteen (15) working days. Extension of the timeline may only be approved by the Superintendent.
  • The investigator shall prepare a written report of the findings and conclusions within five (5) working days of the completion of the investigation.
  • The investigator shall contact the Complainant upon conclusion of the investigation to discuss the findings and conclusions and actions to be taken as a result of the investigation.
  • A record of each complaint or grievance will be maintained at the MSDB Superintendent office. The record shall include a copy of the complaint or the grievance filed, the report of findings from the investigation, and the disposition of the matter.
